Tirupur: A 35-year-old Nigerian has been arrested for staying in the city without valid documents.
According to police, Ejike Wisdom Emordi of Lagos in Nigeria has been staying in the dollar city though his visa had expired in July 2011. He was married to a Kerala woman and the couple were residing at Rakkiyapalayam on Kangeyam Road. “Ejike Wisdom Emordi was involved in knitwear business,” a police officer said.
During a vehicle inspection, police caught Ejike on Wednesday and booked him under Section 14 of Foreigners Act. He was subsequently remanded in judicial custody.
