Bengaluru: Man killed as lift crashes in apartment

BENGALURU: A 45-year-old man died after a lift he was in came crashing down from fourth floor of an apartment in Malleswaram, north Bengaluru, on Wednesday.

The deceased has been identified as Venkatesh Kumar, a resident of Srirampuram. He was supervising the painting work in Rajeshwari Apartment, near 18th Cross. Police said the tragedy occurred around 6.30pm when he entered the lift which plunged to the ground floor from the fourth floor. “Venkatesh was shifted to hospital where doctors declared him brought dead,” police said. Venkatesh is survived by his wife and two children.
