My mother Indrani Mukerjea wanted to kill me too, says son Mikhail Bora

Mumbai: Mikhail Bora, the son of Indrani Mukerjea – prime accused in the Sheena Bora murder case – broke down on Wednesday, on the third day of his deposition before the special CBI court, as he blamed her for the terrible condition of his grandparents, which he claimed, led to their death.

“Had Indrani taken good care of grandma and grandpa, they would have been alive. … Had I not run away from Mumbai in April 2012, I would not be standing before this court today,” he said, adding Indrani was neither able to be a good mother nor a good daughter.

He told the court when he reached Guwahati after escaping Indrani’s attempt to kill him in April 2012, he had called her asking the whereabouts of Sheena. She told him Sheena had moved to the US for higher studies.

Again in 2013, when he had called Indrani as his grandmother’s health was deteriorating, he had inquired about the whereabouts of Sheena. Indrani had then rudely replied, “Let her live her life, she will call you.” She had then called her brothers and said it was Mikhail who caused his grandmother harm, resulting in the latter’s fall in the bathroom, after which she was unable to stand.

Mikhail further said that in 2014, Indrani had come to Guwahati to meet his grandmother and had then stayed in a hotel. She asked Mikhail to come to the hotel and offered him a drink. This time too, he accepted, in order to ascertain why he always fell sick after consuming alcohol she had offered and ended up in hospital.

When Indrani came to the hospital, she lovingly told him she had found him a job in Mumbai and his grandparents could be sent to an old age home. However, when Mikhail had sought details of both the company and the old age home Indrani got angry and would not provide any details. She threatened to stop paying for their  expenses and left the  hospital.

Afterwards, Mikhail called her several times to tell her about his grandparents’ poor health but she never responded.

Mikhail told the court it was on August 25, 2015 that he learnt of his Sheena’s murder from television news channels.“I got to know Didi ka murder ho gaya through news channels.”

Meanwhile, Mikhail recognised all the documents he had submitted to the Khar police station, in which there were photographs of Indrani with her first husband Siddhartha Das and of Mikhail, with Sheena and Vidhi, her daughter from Sanjeev Khanna.
