South civic body to hold PTM at its 581 primary schools soon

The South Delhi Municipal Corporation (SDMC) is all set to organise a parents teacher meting (PTM) on Sunday at all of its 581 primary schools.  At PTM, the parents would be informed about the importance of free health checkup, anti polio campaign, vaccination, prevention and control of vector born diseases and about Swatch Bharat Abhiyan, a senior SDMC official said.

Dr Nandini Sharma, chairperson of Education Committee chaired a meeting of the principals of all MCDs schools and briefed them about the objective of the PTM.

Sharma made it clear that SDMC is going to focus on the health of the students as strong, conscious and healthy children that can later contribute substantially in making country self-reliant.  “The aim of organising PTM is to get feedback of the parents on the education being imparted, improvement in the knowledge of the students, progress in character building and their interest in respective hobbies,” she said. 

The PTM in schools running in first shift, will be organised between 9 am and 12noon and between from 2pm and 5pm in schools running in evening shift.The SDMC is keen to enrich the interest of students in learning on the basis of the feedback received from the parents apart from bringing improvement in the quality of education, the official said.
