Bhopal is going to witness Nukkad Marathon, a marathon of street plays or nukkad which will be done to create awareness on the issues of breastfeeding and first 1000 days in the life of a child, which includes the time when the child is in the womb of mother.
ANSH with support of UNICEF Madhya Pradesh is planning to have a series of shows, including the one which will be witnessed by Yasmin Ali Haque, Representatives of UNICEF India, and senior government officials on July 27 i.e. Friday.
‘Zindagi ka Tamasha’ the street play talks about the First 1000 days of a Child. The plan is to do street play at 70 – 75 different locations across Bhopal within the time span of 24 hours. The series will start at Danish ice cream parlour, professors colony from 11:59 pm onwards on July 26 late night. Script of the play is written by Sahil Khan with support from Samyamoy Debanath, Anil Gulati Communication Specialist UNICEF and Dr Sameer Pawar Nutrition Specialist, UNICEF. The direction is done by Samyamoy Debnath and Sahil Khan.
“Early initiation of breastfeeding together with exclusive breastfeeding for first six months within the framework of first 1000 days of life is critical for survival growth and neurodevelopment of children. Infant and young child feeding practices that should be sustained and promoted,” shares Michael Juma, Chief UNICEF Madhya Pradesh
Team will have 16 artists, including Sahil Khan, Pooja Malviya, Shubham Sharma, Gourvanik Singh, Kanchan Biswas, Neeru Diwakar, Saiem Khan, Rujuta Marathe, Imtiaz Khan, Amrita Sharma, Shivam Awasthi, Vishal Pandey, Sudha Pandey, Divyanshu Mishra, Zuhair Sherwani and Hima Shastri.
The artists have been practicing for one month including stretching, yoga and theatre practice and are geared up for the marathon shares Mohsin Khan, cofounder ANSH Happiness Society, youth group which celebrated its 4th year of formation on Wednesday.
