Sugar prices at Vashi sky rocketed on Thursday by gaining ₹24-94 in absence of new arrivals due to ongoing nationwide transporters strike . At Vashi spot rates gone up by ₹120-200 in last six days. The daily inventory stocks at Vashi which was hovering 110-115 truck loads till last week came down sharply to 35-40 truck loads today. Mill tender rates were ₹3,040-3,170 for S-grade and ₹3,170-3,230 for M-grade. On Bombay Sugar Merchants Association's spot rates were: S-grade ₹3,380-3,500 and M-grade ₹3,402-3,600.
