Key conspirator in SFI leader's murder held

A law student, suspected to be a key conspirator involved in the brutal murder of an SFI member in a college this month, was taken into custody on Thursday even as another suspect surrendered in a court and was sent to judicial custody, police said.

Police said Riffa was the mastermind in the fatal stabbing of 19-year-old during a clash between supporters of the and the of on July 2 due to a dispute over pasting of posters at here.

Faziludeen, one of the suspects, surrendered in a court near here on Thursday and was remanded to judicial custody.

Prime suspect was arrested last week, following which police were looking for Riffa, who was on the run.
