Film will have its premiere on July 29

If the 2014 campaign saw Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s childhood depicted in the Bal Narendra series of comics, the preparations for the 2019 poll will see his early life cinematically rendered.

The Rashtrapati Bhavan on Tuesday and the Lok Sabha secretariat on Wednesday held special screenings of the film Chalo Jeetin Hain, loosely based on Prime Minister Modi’s life.

Its lead protagonist is a young boy called ‘Naru’, whose father runs a tea stall and hails from a humble background. The narrative is about ‘Naru’s’ search for an aim, a purpose in life, and his philosophical engagement with the works of Swami Vivekananda and the Ramkrishna Mission.

The film has been directed by Marathi filmaker Magnesh Hadawale and has Mahaveer Jain and Bhushan Kumar as its producers. The film makes references to freedom fighters Bhagat Singh, Rajguru and Sukhdev as those who lived for others.

The film will have its world premiere on July 29 on the Star Network.

Among those present at the screening on Tuesday were President Ramnath Kovind and Union Ministers Piyush Goyal and Dharmendra Pradhan, among others. In the Lok Sabha, Speaker Sumitra Mahajan led MPs and others.
