Company seeks some concessions

The management of Ballarpur Industries Limited has agreed to reopen its closed paper unit at Kamalapur in Bhoopalpally district, earlier called AP Rayons, subject to certain concessions being offered by the State government.

The management and the government represented by Deputy Chief Minister Kadiyam Srihari, Industries Minister K.T. Rama Rao on Wednesday reached an agreement to reopen the factory on the basis of the concessions, an official release after their meeting. It was agreed that the management will submit proposals on the kind of support that it expected from the government for the reopening of the unit within a week. They will be taken to the notice of Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao to spell out what best the government can offer. The ministers explained to the management that the government will do its best to ensure the reopening of the unit in the interests of workers. The ministers promised to consider concessions sought by the management.
