Hindus should have at least five children: BJP MLA

VARANASI: BJP MLA from Bairia in UP's Ballia district Surendra Singh has appealed to the Hindu community to “have at least five children and make the country strong”.
A first-time MLA, Singh is known for his contentious statements. The video of his latest statement has gone viral on social media.

“Hindu samaj ko yeh sochna chahiye ki Bharat ki dharti ki raksha ke liye abadi badhane ka prayatn kare (Hindu society should consider saving India by increasing their population),” he said while talking to reporters in Ballia on Wednesday.

He added that “each Hindu couple must have at least five children”.

Terming child birth as ‘prasad’ (gift) of God, he said, “Bachche paida karna Bhagwan ka prasad hai, is shristri ka niyanta paida karta hai to uski vyavastha bhi karta hai (children are the gift of God, who manages all things for them).”

“Hindu bhayiyon ko chahiye ki agar Bharat ko majboot banana hai to apni sankhya ko majboot karein. Bharat majboot tabhi hoga jab Hindu majboot hoga (Hindus if want to make India strong should make their population strong. India will be strong only when Hindus are strong),” he said adding that “India will be weak when Hindus are weak”.

“Hindus would become a minority not due to terrorists, but due to their own thought and temperament,” he added.

Earlier, this school teacher MLA has been in news for controversial remarks like "Prime Minister Narendra Modi is reincarnation of Lord Ram, killing of mafia don Munna Bajrangi is a divine justice, even Lord Ram would not be able to stop rape incidents, prostitutes better than government officials".
