Aluminium futures rise 0.53% on positive spot cues

Aluminium prices inched up by 0.53 per cent to Rs 141.40 per kg in futures market today as speculators built positions, taking positive cues from spot market on robust demand.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, aluminium for delivery in July edged up by 75 paise, or 0.53 per cent to Rs 141.40 per kg in business turnover of 531 lots.

Similarly, the for delivery in August contracts inched higher by 70 paise, or 0.49 per cent, to Rs 142.30 per kg in 20 lots.

Analysts said building of positions by participants on the back of soaring demand from consuming industries in the physical market, attributed to the rise in aluminium prices in futures trade.
