The 10th Hindi Elocution Competition was organised by The Society for Promotion of Professional Excellence (SPPE),  at the Centre for Excellence (CFE). It was an initiative to boost the morale of the children from vernacular schools of Jamshedpur.

The event witnessed the presence of close to 47 children from about 25 Project and Government Schools (Hindi medium) from across the city. The topic chosen was ‘Environment’. It was an effort to instill awareness at an individual level on the importance of environment conservation.

The children were divided into two groups - Junior (class 5 to class 7) and Senior (class 8 to class 10), both these groups were given the same topic with a time limit of two and a half and three and a half minutes, respectively, to prepare. With a view to providing a platform to these young minds to showcase their talent, SPPE is constantly striving towards motivating the children.

To evaluate the students on their elocution skills, eminent academicians of Jamshedpur were invited, namely, Sona Rao and Shanta Kumari.  They assessed the participants based on the criteria- choice of piece, pronunciation, presentation, voice modulation and overall performance. Shalu Kumari and Sonam Kumari were declared winners of junior and senior category respectively.
