RTC to operate 100 special services

As many as 100 special buses will be operated by the Visakhapatnam region of APS RTC for the annual ‘Giri Pradakshina’ of Sri Varaha Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy at Simhachlam here.

The special buses will be operated from 11 a.m. on Thursday till the festival rush was cleared on Friday. The special buses will take the devotees from various areas in the city, district and from neighbouring Vizianagaram district to Simhachalam and back to their homes after the conclusion of the festival on Friday afternoon, according to regional manager G. Sudesh Kumar.

The special buses will be operated from Anakapalle, Gajuwaka, Scindia, Kottavalasa and Vizianagaram, RTC Complex, Zilla Parishad junction and Old Head Post Office and from Chodavaram and Devarapalle.

RTC officers and Controllers would be posted at important junctions en route to guide pilgrims. Additional buses would be pressed into service, based on the requirement. The services would be operated till late in the night on Friday to enable devotees to return home after the festival.
