Man, daughter killed as tipper lorry hits two-wheeler

A man and his daughter were killed after their vehicle were knocked down by a tipper lorry at Ponneri on Tuesday morning.

CHENNAI: A man and his daughter were killed after their vehicle were knocked down by a tipper lorry at Ponneri on Tuesday morning. Police said Kasi, 50, was driving his two-wheeler with his daughter Anandi, 17, on the pillion to drop her at school on Tuesday morning.  “As they were passing through Ponneri, a tipper lorry hit them from behind, killing both of them on the spot,” said a police source. 

On information, police recovered the bodies and sent them to the government hospital for autopsy. 
Investigation revealed that the tipper lorry that started from Ponneri was heading towards Minjur when it hit the man and his daughter as the driver lost control of the vehicle. Police said Kasi owned a bakery in Ponneri and his daughter was a Plus-Two student. Police have arrested lorry driver Tamilarasan, a native of Villupuram.
