JAIPUR/KOTA: Two persons died in Sikar in rain-related incidents, while 10 others had a narrow escape after they were trapped in an overflowing rivulet in
Kota on Wednesday. However, Meteorological Department has issued a warning of heavy to very heavy rainfall likely in isolated places in east Rajasthan in the next 24 hours.
Two children had a close shave when a house collapsed in Sikar’s Neem Ka Thana area. But their mother died in the incident. The incident happened in Mawanda village of
Sikar district. According to the police, it was a dilapidated house, which collapsed due to rain. The two children and their mother were trapped in the debris. The mother died while her two children were pulled out of the debris safely. They were rushed to the hospital for treatment. In another incident, one person also drowned in Neem Ka Thana area.
Met department has predicted that the sky would remain cloudy with thunderstorm and a moderate rain is likely in Jaipur. Rain lashed isolated places in east Rajasthan. Neem Ka Thana received 19cms of rainfall, while Baran’s Shahabad and Sikar’s Srimadhopur received 14cms of rainfall. Jaipur’s Sanganer received 10 cms. Rain lashed Jhunjhunu, Dausa, Chittorgarh, Sawai Madhopur, Pratapgarh, Sikar, Karauli and Bharatpur.
In another rain-related incident, 10 persons including three women, who are residents of Bawadi Kheda village, were trapped in an overflowing rivulet in an agricultural field on Wednesday. They were rescued safely near Bawadi Kheda village under Anantpura police station of Kota. At noon, they were working in an agricultural field along a rivulet that suddenly got flooded with water due to heavy rain in the area, said Anantpura police. The police and rescue team from Kota Municipal Corporation rushed to the spot and launched a rescue operation. The agricultural field was completely inundated with water, due to the overflowing rivulet.
Four kids drown in Barmer:
Jaisalmer: Four out of five children who went to take a bath in a pond, died of drowning on Wednesday. The incident took place at Bhairu pond near Jasol town in Balotara sub division in Barmer district. District administration’s rescue team rushed to the spot immediately after receiving the information. They fished out the bodies of the children. They were taken to hospital, where they were declared dead. All children were under 15 years and three children were from the same family. Two of them were brothers. Balotara station house officer, Bhanwar Lal Sirvi said that the children are identified as Mahendra, Suraj, Hitesh, Hanuman and one other, all being in the age group of 14-15 years. All of them went deep into the pond except one. Seeing the four children drowning, the one who did not enter the pond, cried for help.
