Indore: Two including president of labourers’ association were arrested in connection with the attack on MT Cloth Market Merchant Association president Hansaraj Jain and other traders on Tuesday. The accused were hiding in several places including Maharashtra and Gujarat while on run. The efforts to nab other accused are on.
ASP (crime) Amarendra Singh said that president of traders association Hansraj Jain and four other traders were thrashed by Dinesh Sharma, president of labourers’ association and his accomplices following an argument over parking issue in Mahavir Chowk area in the market on July 10.
Jain was sitting at trader Himmat Jain’s shop when Sharma along with more than a dozen persons reached there and they opposed parking arrangement. A case under Sections 452, 294, 506, 147, 148 of the IPC was registered by the staff of Sarafa police station against the accused. Since then, they were on the run.
The police team was searching for the accused when a tip-off was received that accused Dinesh Sharma and his accomplice Raju Vishwakarma were seen near Niranjanpur Square after which team cordoned off the area and managed to arrest them.
During questioning, the accused Sharma informed the police that he was the candidate in election for corporator from BJP. He said that Raju had an argument with trader Mukesh Thorani and Hansraj Jain over parking issue after which he called Sharma and others there on the spot and they attacked Jain and others. Sharma has more than a dozen criminal cases registered against him in Chandan Nagar police station.
The accused were hiding in Shirdi, Ujjain and Gujarat to evade arrest. Accused told the police that accused Bagora, who was involved with them, is a criminal of Sadar Bazaar area. He was booked earlier on charge of murder. The other accused involved in the case are also being identified by the police.
