Assets worth about ₹1.4 cr. seized in raid

The Anti Corruption Bureau (ACB) sleuths arrested Kotaru Eswara Rao, Senior Assistant (Purchase) of King George Hospital (KGH), for allegedly possessing assets disproportionate to his known sources of income, here on Tuesday. The assets recovered include one house site measuring 375 sq yds in Narsipatnam, three agriculture lands measuring close to two acres in Nakkapalli and East Godavari.

According to the ACB, the accused is also president of the District AP NGOs’ Association.

The document value of the immovable assets seized and movable properties in the form of automobiles, gold, silver, fixed deposits and cash is valued at about ₹1.4 crore, as per the ACB.

“But the market value could exceed ₹ 10 crore,” said an ACB official.

Raids were simultaneously conducted in 10 places in Visakhaptnam and East Godavari district.
