WANAPARTHY: The residents of Wanaparthy town are in a grip of innumerable problems since the onset of monsoons. The lanes and bylanes of the town are turning into mini cesspools whenever the city experiences rainfall, even for half an hour. The town completely lacks an integrated internal drainage system.

While some colonies have partially connected drainage lines, some don’t have them at all. The proposals prepared for the development of an internal drainage system in the town by the district officials in the past at a cost of Rs 4 crore have not materialised so far. As a result, the residents of the town are forced to live in shoddy conditions.
