Hyderabad: Surveyor caught taking Rs 30,000 bribe

HYDERABAD: A mandal surveyor of Khammam district was caught red handed by the Anti Corruption Bureau (ACB) sleuths when he demanded and accepted Rs 30000 bribe from the complainant on Wednesday.

The accused official is, D Raju, mandal surveyor, Yerrupalem mandal, Khammam district. Based on the complaint lodged by M Anil Kumar, a businessman-cum-advocate, ACB sleuths laid a trap at 2.10 pm and caught Raju red handed when he took Rs 30,000 bribe amount from the complainant near the main gate of Collectorate in Khammam district.

The bribe amount was recovered from the possession of the accused. “The accused demanded the bribe to survey and fix boundaries of the complainant’s father’s 29 acre land in Rajupalem village of Yerrupalem mandal.

The mandal surveyor was arrested and produced before the ACB court in Hyderabad. He was sent in judicial remand.
