Amitabh Bachchan’s Badla to clash with Captain Marvel at box office

Amitabh Bachchan’s Badla and Marvel Studios’ Captain Marvel are headed for a box office clash. Both films will be released on March 8, 2019.

Badla and Captain Marvel will clash on March 8.

Amitabh Bachchan and Taapsee Pannu-starrer, Badla, will be released on March 8, 2019. It will clash at the box office with Marvel Studios’ Avengers 4 lead-up, Captain Marvel.

The crime thriller drama will reunite Amitabh and Taapsee after the success of the critically acclaimed 2016 movie Pink.

Badla, directed by Sujoy Ghosh, will present the two actors in pivotal roles. It has been produced by Shah Rukh Khan’s Red Chillies Entertainment in association with Azure Entertainment. The movie has been shot extensively in London and Scotland.

Marvel recently announced that principal photography had been completed on Captain Marvel, which is the studio’s first female-led superhero film. Starring Brie Larson in the lead role, Captain Marvel also marks the studio’s first film to be co-directed by a woman. Directing duo Anna Boden and Ryan Fleck are helming the movie.

Captain Marvel’s March release will come weeks before the hugely-anticipated Avengers 4, due out in May. Considering the huge box office success Hollywood films have been experiencing in India - Avengers: Infinity War made more than Rs 250 crore - Badla will face tough competition in March.
