A Trinamool Congress-backed outfit Bangla Pokkho organised a protest meeting in Kolkata on Wednesday demanding withdrawal of ongoing National Register of Citizens (NRC) update in Assam.
Bangla Pokkho further demanded “withdrawal of all cases” against former Vice-Chancellor of Assam University, Tapodhir Bhattacharya for alleged violation of peace in Assam.
The organisation underscored that Bharatiya Janata Party is creating “1930s Germany like situation in Assam” as it could not get a grip over Bengal.
