Chronicle Reporter, Bhopal,The state capital received good amount of rainfall in the last two days. The state capital recorded 2.4 cm of rainfall till 5.30 in the evening and which continued till late in the night.
For the past whole night continuous heavy rainfall has been witnessed across the state. The weatherman said heavy rainfall would be experienced in the state in the next 2-3 days.
Rainfall continued throughout the day across 10 districts on Monday. In Chhatarpur, 10 children who got trapped in the river were rescued.The children were trapped after sudden rise in Dhasan Katan river and were rescued after around 10 hours of rescue.
In another incident in Faddipura village of Morena district, a pregnant woman Ratna Kushwaha died after a wall of her house caved in. Alert has been sounded at several nearby areas of river banks which have swollen in heavy rainfall in the past 24 hours in the state.
The Met Department has warned of heavy rains in 31 districts of the state. Warning of heavy rainfall in Sagar, Guna, Ashoknagar, Chhatarpur, Raisen and Bhopal, Sehore, Gwalior, Shivpuri, Sheopur, Umaria, Shahdol, Neemuch, Mandsaur, Agar, Shajapur, Tikamgarh, Panna, Sidhi while heavy rains hare likely to be witnessed in Singrauli, Katni, Seoni, Chhindwara, Balaghat, Mandla, Jabalpur, Narsinghpur, Hoshangabad districts.
On Monday Sagar recorded 5 cm of rainfall, Ujjain and Jabalpur recorded 4.5 cm of rainfall, while Damoh, Hoshangabad and Mandla recorded 4 cm of rainfall.
Low pressure area over north east Madhya Pradesh and adjoining areas, upper air cyclonic circulation and a low pressure area system from Odisha to Bay of Bengal have created havoc which has been witnessed for the past 24 hours across the state.
