Woman’s body found inside tank in Selvapuram

Coimbatore: The torso of a 30-year-old woman was found floating at a decomposed state at Muthunankulam tank in Selvapuram on Wednesday. The police rushed to the spot after the passersby alerted him. “A headless body of the woman with no legs and hands were found floating in the tank around 7:00 pm,” a police official, who is involved in the case said.
Further, her head and hands were found in a sack a few meters away from the body. Officials said that they are yet to find her legs. “We suspect that the woman could have been murdered a couple of days ago,” the official said, adding that the torso has been sent to the forensic department to know details.

Since, there is no missing case reported in the region, all the police stations across the district have been alerted. The official said they are yet to receive reply from other stations. We will resume the search for legs in and around the tank on Thursday morning, the official said.

The police have filed a case under the Section 302 (murder) of Indian Penal Code (IPC) and are further investigating the case. tnn
