Union secy reviews second phase of Gram Swaraj Abhiyan

Union cabinet secretary Pradeep Kumar Singh from New Dselhi through video-conferencing reviewed the nation-wide Gram Swaraj Abhiyan along with different prominent welfare schemes. The schemes include Insurance Scheme, Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana, Mission Indradhanush, Pradhan Mantri Jan Dhan scheme, Pradhan Mantri Sahaj Bijli Har Ghar Yojana – 'Saubhagya', Unnat Jyoti by Affordable LEDs for All (UJALA) scheme, Pradhan Mantri Jeevan-Jyoti Yojana, Prime Minister Security Insurance Scheme and welfare schemes for the farmers.

During the review of schemes and its progress, union cabinet secretary appreciated the works undertaken by Chhattisgarh. The state officials intimated that during the Gram Swaraj Abhiyan in first phase, the Pradhan Mantri Jan Dhan Scheme, Pradhan Mantri Jeevan-Jyoti Yojana and Prime Minister Security Insurance Scheme had achieved cent-percent achievement. The nation-wide drive was organised in first phase from April 14 to May 5, 2018. In the second phase, which is underway from June 1 would conclude on August 15.

Chhattisgarh has 10 districts included in the aspirational districts. They are Bastar, Bijapur, Dantewada, Kondagaon, Korba, Mahasamund, Narayanpur, Rajnandgaon, Sukma and Kanker districts.

Rural development department additional chief secretary R.P. Mandal in detail gave the progress being made in the aspirational districts of state. During the video-conference, union rural development, health, agriculture, finance and other department higher officials, chief secretaries of Andhra Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Rajasthan, Odisha, Bihar, Uttar Pradesh and Jharkhand and other senior officials, in Chhattisgarh Agriculture department ACS Sunil Kujur, food, energy, women and child development and other department senior officers were present.
