Netflix now lets you pick characters from its own shows as profile icons

Netflix is introducing a bunch of new icons including some of the characters from its own shows and movies like Stranger Things, House of Cards, Defenders, Okja, Luke Cage and Crazy Eyes among others.
Personalisation has been one of the key strengths of Netflix, be it the content recommendations based on your previous watch history or artwork personalisation wherein it shows personalized artwork to each users to attract them to watch unfamiliar films or movies.

Netflix's users profiles feature also enables you to get personalised recommendations based on their individual viewing habits. However, one missing feature was the ability to have proper profile images instead of the existing basic drawing icons.

Today, Netflix is fixing it with profile icons getting a much needed makeover. The company said it is introducing a bunch of new icons including some of the characters from its own shows and movies like Stranger Things, House of Cards, Defenders, Okja, Luke Cage and Crazy Eyes among others.

These profile icons will be rolled out on Netflix website, mobile and TV devices over the next few weeks.

This feature comes on heels of the video streaming giant revamping its television experience with a new design to improve navigation through a remote control, to make it easier for users to find relevant titles or access the titles they have added for later viewing.

Earlier this month, Netflix also introduced Smart downloads feature to its Android app, making it easier for users to binge watch television shows offline. Through this feature, Netflix automatically delete downloaded episodes of a television show after the user has finished watching it and downloads the next episode when they connect to a Wi-Fi connection.
