PATNA: The
rainfall deficiency in
Bihar this monsson, which stood at 46% during the period from June 1 to July 24, has dropped to 42%, thanks to the southwest monsoon activity in the state in the last 24 hours.
The weatherman said moderate rainfall occurred in several parts of state, while heavy to very heavy rain lashed Nawada and Madhubani on Tuesday night and Wednesday morning.
According to Patna Meteorological Centre, Rajauli (Nawada) recorded 17cm; Jhanjharpur (Madhubani) 14cm; Hisua (Nawada) 10cm; Nawada and Bhabhua 7cm and Aurangabad, Kesaria (East Champaran), Phulparas (Madhubani), Bihta (Patna), Daudnagar (Aurangabad) and Dehri (Rohtas) recorded 6cm rainfall.
“The rainfall activity in the state is likely to increase from July 28,” the weatherman forecast.
An all-India weather bulletin issued by the
India Meteorological department on Wednesday predicted no significant change in maximum and minimum temperatures in most parts of the country during the next three days.
