LUDHIANA: The leaders of
Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) and Bhartiya Janta Party (
BJP) locked the office of
municipal corporation Ludhiana on Wednesday morning while protesting against the state government. The protesters accused the
Congress government of not carrying out development works in the city.
The leaders were stopped by police officials from entering the premises and they came from adjoining passages. The leaders claimed that development works in the city have suffered badly since Congress government came to power in the state. They complained that Congress was adopting 'pick and choose' policy in development works as works were being done only in wards of Congress councillors.
The police had barricading the MC officer and traffic movement was also diverted. Some of the MC employees were also unable to enter the office.
