‘TRS should first clarify its stand on SCS to A.P.’

Telangana Congress leaders criticised TRS that sought its stand on the A.P. Reorganisation Act and said that the TRS should first clarify its stand.

At separate press conferences, Leader of Opposition Mohammed Ali Shabbir and MLA A. Revanth Reddy reminded the brave decision of former AICC president Sonia Gandhi to grant Telangana and that too with all financial resources of Hyderabad to it. Special Status was promised to Andhra Pradesh for losing revenue from Hyderabad and that was made clear when the Telangana Bill was passed.

Mr. Ali said the TRS has not spoken a word on the Act in the last four years and has suddenly raked up the issue to cover up its failures in getting the projects sanctioned from the Centre as promised to Telangana in the Act.

The Congress was clear on all the issues mentioned in the A.P. Reorganisation Act which includes Railway Coach Factory, Byaram Steel Factory and 4,000-MW Power Projects to Telangana as well as special status to Andhra Pradesh.

Mr. Reddy ridiculed Irrigation Minister T. Harish Rao stating that he should get clarification from Mr. KCR before seeking Congress’ stand on the special status. He said Mr. Chandrasekhar Rao and his family members touched Ms. Sonia Gandhi’s feet for fulfilling her promise despite strong opposition and now they dare to question the party that gave birth to Telangana.

Mr. Reddy alleged that Mr. Harish Rao would soon be thrown out of the party by Mr. KCR and he would better realise it.

He said Mr. Rao was blaming the Congress only to keep his uncle happy, but his uncle has other ideas in mind.

Mr. Reddy said he would continue to question the ‘corruption’ in the government and KCR’s family and was not afraid of facing police cases.
