ALLAHABAD: The train passenger will no longer have to stand in long queues for booking a ticket, platform ticket or season ticket as the Allahabad division of North Central Railways (NCR) would launch a mobile app for the same on July 26. With this app the passengers will be able to book paper and paperless tickets through mobile.
The application, developed by CRIS, can be downloaded through window store or Google play store following which a passenger can book platform ticket, unreserved ticket, season ticket etc.

PRO, Allahabad division, SK Gupta said, "The app, UTS, will be launched on July 26."

About the app he said that after downloading the application a passenger will have to register himself by giving the details of mobile number, name, city, nearest railway station, class, type of tickets, number of passengers and route of journey. After the registration of the passenger, a Rail-wallet will be generated on zero balance.

At present the facility of paper ticket is being provided at the stations of the Allahabad Division and seeing the response, it will be provided for the stations of the other divisions too, he added.

"Before commencing the journey, the passenger will have to take the printout of the booked ticket from ATVM (automatic ticket vending machine) of the concerned station failing which the passenger would be treated as without ticket," said Gupta.

The passenger can get the printout of ticket by feeding the registered mobile number and booking ID in the ATVM at the station from where the journey is to start.

'Paper ticket' can be cancelled at the ticket counters after taking the printout and also through the application before taking the printout. However, the cancellation charges will be deducted in both the cases.
