Accused taken to Alappuzha for evidence collection

KOCHI: The Special Investigation Team probing the Abhimanyu murder case took Muhammad J I, the first accused, to Alappuzha as a part of evidence collection.

According to the police, the accused was taken to Alappuzha in order to trace his cell phone. In his statement to the police, Mohammed confessed he had abandoned the phone he allegedly used for the conspiracy to kill the 20-year-old Abhimanyu.

However, the police are also tracing the last updated location details of the first accused. According to the police, those details will help find out whether he received any support from party workers.
Meanwhile, the cops received custody of two more accused - Nisar and Anoob - in the case till July 27.
