NEW DELHI: If you are a "successful entrepreneur", an "eminent professional", a "highly recognized young achiever", you belong to an "ultra-rich family" or if you are a "beautiful girl" then your search for a life partner has come to an end.

If not...then The Grand National Young Achievers Matrimony Meet, organized in Bengaluru is definitely not a place for you.

These are the so-called requirements an applicant needs to fulfil before he could be a part of the matrimony meet being organized by Young Achievers Matrimony agency in Bengaluru.

The meet's advertisement, published in a newspaper in Bengaluru, has been slammed for its "classism", "elitism", "regressiveness" and "sexism".

"There's no way one thing can be sexist, casteist, elitist, and offensive to literally everyone all at the same time. Young Achievers Matrimony: Hold my beer," wrote a social media user as he posted an image of the advertisement of the meet which had registration fee of Rs 25,000 for "high net worth families".

The "young achievers", according to the agency, are the people who are either professionally qualified, have graduated from IITs or IIMs or are in administrative or police services.

No doubt, the above mentioned qualities qualifies one as an achiever, but the fact that these are the traits one is looking at while searching for a life partner implies a mindset which is not only regressive but also elitist, was the overwhelming opinion on social media.

One social media user was apparently miffed, not with the regressive tone of the ad, but the fact the participants will be served only vegetarian meal at the meet. (Pun intended)

"Why is no one else getting offended at the fact that after bringing in all the beauty and money into the Young Achievers Matrimony Buffet, all the participants will get is veg lunch???" said the miffed online user.

Surprisingly, the distinguished list of requirements had an odd-entry — "beautiful girl". However, it is yet not clear as to how the agency is going to measure this particular attribute.

"The whole event is shambolic. A young achievers matrimony on Int’l youth day promising beautiful girls and ultra-rich families. How this is an achievers meet? Who on earth are they and what were they smoking? #indianmatrimony #newlow" the advertisement was ruthlessly slammed online.

"So apparently, being "beautiful" classifies as a "young achiever". There is always a bias towards girls (in matrimony industry) - but explicitly mentioning it like this - WEIRD & STUPID," said a Twitter user.
