CHENNAI: A 34-year-old security guard at a private women's hostel, was arrested for molesting a software engineer on Monday night.
The 24-year-old was in a room she sharedf with a friend on the second floor of the building. On Monday, her friend was away and she was sleeping in her room with the balcony door open for ventilation.
Around midnight she felt a hand trying to close her mouth. She managed to push the man away and raised an alarm. The victim managed to identify the man Subash, from
Tiruvannamalai, who was working at the hostel as a security guard.
She lodged a complaint with police. Inquiries revealed that the man had scaled the wall and entered the room on the second floor through the terrace.
Police investigating on to find out whether he was involved in other similar offences in the past.
