CHENNAI : D John Daniel of Chennai and V Revathy of Madurai emerged the fastest runners in the Sports Development Authority of Tamil Nadu’s golden jubilee athletics meet on Monday. While Daniel clocked 10.80 seconds, Revathi took 11.56. The meet was inaugurated by Minister for Youth Welfare and Sports Development P Balakrishna Reddy and Minister for Tamil Development K Pandiarajan at the Nehru Stadium.

Results: Men: 100m: 1. D John Daniel (Chennai, 10.80). 2. C Ajith Kumar (Chennai, 10.92). 3. M Karthikeyan (Tiruppur, 11.02).Long jump: 1. M Vishnu (Chennai, 7.48m). 2. M Mahesh (Tirunelveli, 7.19m). 3. K Nisanthi Raja (Madurai, 7.15m). High jump: 1. J Aadarsh Ram (Coimbatore, 2.06m). 2. K Mohammed Ashif (Tiruppur, 2.03m). 3. BV Bivishan (Kanyakumari, 2m); Women: 100m: V Revathy (Madurai, 11.56). 2. S Dhanalakshmi (Trichy, 11.79). 3. R Vithya (Erode, 11.92). Long jump: 1. Harshioni Saravanan (Chennai, 6.00m). 2. R Punitha (Namakkal, 5.75m). 3. A Sherin (Kancheepuram, 5.72m). High jump: 1. Gracena G Mercy (Kanyakumari, 1.62m). 2. N Naga Priya (Perambalur, 1.59m). 3. K Gobika (Tiruppur, 1.59m).

Kishore shines for DAV
B Kishore’s 63 helped DAV SSS beat Government Higher Secondary School by 32 runs in the TNCA City schools U-16 tournament for the C Ramaswamy Trophy. In another match, RK Deepak Kumar’s haul of 4 for 10 helped SBOA School & Jr College beat PS Mat Higher Secondary School by 118 runs.

SBOA School & Jr College 214/8 in 30 ovs (P Kawin 54, D Kamesh Kumar 3/46) bt PS Mat Hr Sec School 96 in 21.1 ovs (S Haresh 36, RK Deepak Kumar 4/10, Tharunish Kumar 3/11). The Hindu Sr Sec School 147/8 in 30 ovs (Vishaakh E Menon 54, S Siddharth 39, Arnav Chauan 3/10) lost to PS Sr Sec School 148/8 in 27.4 ovs (SS Nandan 3/21). Sir Sivaswami Kalalaya Sr Sec School 146 in 26.5 ovs (P Hari Prasaath 4/28) lost to KC Sankaralinga Nadar Hr Sec School 150/7 in 27.1 ovs (V Ashwin Sivashankaran 3/15).
