The story of a 40-year-old woman from southern city of Mysuru who  was found in Shimla in Himachal Pradesh is heart-rending. After local papers reported about her, the Government of Karnataka has decided to bring her back to Mysuru to unite her with her parents.

40-year-old Saraswathi went missing two years back and landed in Shimla. She doesn’t recollect how she went there but she was admitted to Himachal Hospital of Mental Health and Rehabilitation in Shimla for treatment in June 2016. According to reports, the lady came in search of a job to Bengaluru but went missing and reached Kangra in HP. Later she was admitted to hospital by local population. For two years she was there without any connect with her family as none found out about her background as she knew only Kannada. Local papers wrote about her and Karnataka Chief Minister Kumaraswamy responded immediately asking officers to bring her back to unite her with her parents.

A communiqué issued by HB Dinesh,  media secretary to Chief Minister,  the Government has directed the Mysuru DC to make necessary arrangements to bring her back to Mysuru.  "Chief Minister HD Kumaraswamy on being alerted about the stranded woman directed Mysuru Deputy Commissioner Abhiram G Shankar to make necessary arrangements to bring her back to the state," a statement from the Chief Minister's office said.

The local media had reported that Saraswathi, 40, from Makanahalli village in Mysuru district, went missing two years ago when she came to Bengaluru to work in a garment factory. She reportedly reached Himachal Pradesh's Kangra and was later admitted to the Himachal Hospital of Mental Health and Rehabilitation in Shimla for treatment in June 2016.

"She could not contact her family facing language issues in Himachal and was unable to recall how she reached there," the statement added.
