GREATER NOIDA: The Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YEIDA) has launched a scheme for industrial land allotment around the proposed Jewar international airport.
Applicants can apply online to buy plots over 4,000 square metres under this scheme, officials said on Tuesday.

Arunveer Singh, CEO of YEIDA, said the plot allotment scheme would start from Wednesday. “Plots over 4,000 square metres will be allotted to the industrialists under this open-ended scheme,” he said.

“The entire land allotment process will be held online. We will place a summary of the industrial land allotment scheme on our website. Interested people can go through the document and apply with detailed project report. They need to deposit the processing fee online. We will analyse and scrutinise the applications before calling candidates for an interview and processing the land allotment,” Singh said.

Shailendra Bhatia, OSD to Yeida, said that Bollywood film producer Boney Kapoor has expressed interest in developing a film city near the Jewar International Airport area. Last week, Kapoor paid a visit to the site and also held discussions with officials concerned for allotment of 30-acre land. Bhatia said that some other investors like Vivo Mobile and Airtel have also expressed interest in the investment.

Yeida officials said land below 4,000 square metres will be allotted through a lottery system. The Authority will soon launch a similar scheme for institutional land allotment.

Meanwhile, the district administration and Yamuna Authority officials have started a one-week consent-taking meeting with farmers for Jewar International Airport land acquisition.

A meeting was held in Ramner village but farmers and land owners refused to give their consent, demanding four times the circle rates as compensation.

The consent-taking meeting took place in Ramner, Ranehra, Banwariwas, Mukeempur Shivara, Parohi, Kishorpur and Dayanatpur villages.

The last meetings slated for Wednesday and Thursday will be held in Roli village whose 481.53 hectare land has been earmarked for acquisition.
