UPES mandated to increase scope of operations

The University of Petroleum and Energy Studies (UPES) has claimed that in last Assembly session, the Government has amended the original Act and in the process, it has mandated UPES to increase the scope of its operations in many other domains.

The amendment empowers UPES to provide for extensive study, teaching and research in Humanities, Social Science, Natural Science, Engineering Technology, Medical, Dental health Science, Law Studies and Formal Science.

Informing the press on Monday, the Vice-Chancellor Deependra Kumar Jha said, “This charter expansion is a significant milestone for UPES and I am very thankful to the State Govt, the CM and the Governor of U’khand for their trust and confidence in us.

At UPES, we are committed to provide wider and meaningful avenues to the students and this amendment will allow us towards these objectives” he said.

He added that after this amendment and in the current academic year, UPES has launched six new courses at the undergraduate level.

Senior director, Public Affairs, Arun Dhand said that these programmes were introduced, keeping the interests of the Uttarakhand domicile students in priority so that they derive the benefits of UPES teaching excellence while pursuing their graduation.
