Rakbar Khan, who was allegedly lynched to death on the suspicion of cow smuggling in Rajasthan's district, died of shock caused by his injuries, the post-mortem report has said.

On Saturday, Rakbar and his friend were taking cows to their villages in through a forest area in Alwar's Ramgarh, where they were caught by a group of people. While managed to flee, Rakbar was allegedly thrashed brutally by the group.

A three-member medical board which conducted the post-mortem said, "The cause of death in this case is shock as a result of injuries sustained over body."

The board, comprising Dr Sanjay Gupta, Dr and Dr of the General Hospital of Alwar, made the remarks in the post-mortem report.

Khan sustained multiple injuries in the attack.

The police have arrested three people suspected to be involved in the attack on Khan.

Under fire for a delay in taking Khan to the hospital, the Police set up a four-member committee to probe the allegations.

The panel ordered the suspension of the then posted at the station, Mohan Singh, and transferred three others to police lines.

The action was taken after a video purportedly showing ASI Singh admitting to his "mistake" went viral.

The committee will also probe whether Khan became a victim of police beating on the intervening night of Friday and Saturday.
