Select base metals gain on good demand

Mumbai, Jul 24 (PTI) Select base metals including copper, brass utensils scrap and zinc gained at the non-ferrous metals market here today on stockists' buying amid good demand from industrial users.

Nickel and brass sheet cuttings slipped due to sluggish demand from alloy industries.

Copper cable scrap and copper billets rose by Rs 4 per kg each to Rs 459 and Rs 487 from Monday's closing level of Rs 455 and Rs 483.

Copper scrap heavy and zinc moved up by Rs 3 per kg each to Rs 454 and Rs 215 as against Rs 451 and Rs 212, yesterday.

Copper armature, copper utensils and brass utensils scrap edged up by Rs 2 per kg each to Rs 450, Rs 423 and Rs 340 as compared to Rs 448, Rs 421 and Rs 338.

Copper sheet cuttings inched up per kg to Rs 446.

However, nickel declined by Rs 15 per kg to Rs 975 as against Rs 990 and brass sheet cuttings softened by Rs 3 per ó kg to Rs 351 from Rs 355. PTI BPD SHW ADI
