Coal Secy stresses on achieving daily targets

Union Coal Secretary Inder Jit Singh today emphasized on meeting daily target of coal production so that Coal India and Central Coalfields Limited (CCL) can achieve its annual target in FY 2018-19. Presiding a review meeting at CCL headquarters here on Monday he further asked the officials to pay attention to coal dispatch and other related issues.

The Coal Secretary instructed officials present in the meeting to chart out plan to solve bottleneck regarding coal production and other related issues. He also instructed to dispatch 4 Million Tonnes (MT) of coal to power plants at the earliest. He asked the management to identify collective and individual responsibility of the employees and he urged them to perform accordingly with commitment, discipline and dedication.

Motivating the officials on the occasion, Chairman, Coal India AK Jha said that Coal India need to liquidate 35 MT of its coal stock in time-bound manner. He further said that they have been given responsibility to meet energy requirement of the Nation and coal family is committed to fulfill it.

Earlier, CCL CMD Gopal Singh briefed the Coal Secretary about the mining activities of CCL with the help of a power point presentation and unprecedented performance achieved by CCL over the past few years. Singh also highlighted the ongoing development works in the company. He also informed the Coal Secretary about the company's coal production, dispatch, Over Burden Removal, coal stocks, environment issues etc. and other relevant issues. Singh ensured that the CCL has potential and capability to achieve its annual target in remaining months of current fiscal 2018-19.

Joint Secretary, Ashish Upadhayay, Advisor (Project), A Sinha, Dy Secretary (L&IR/NA), MoC, N K Singh, CMD, CCL Gopal Singh, Director (Finance), D K Ghosh, Director (Personnel) R S Mahapatro, Director (Technical / Operations) A K Mishra, Director (Project & Planning) V K Srivastava, Chief Vigilance Officer A K Srivastava, General Managers / Department Head of various departments, Area  General Managers and other senior officers were present in the meeting.

Prior to the meeting, the Coal Secretary paid a floral tribute to the coal martyrs. He was also given a guard of honor by CISF Jawans.
