Neil Garwood, Managing Director at Southampton Airport, said: “Summer is always an exciting time for everyone, and we welcome all of our passengers on route to their fantastic summer holidays.
“As school holidays are in full swing, we are expecting to see an increase in a number of passengers arriving to the airport with their children, and we have some activities prepared for the young travellers such as Merlin Trail – simply pick up a passport at the Check-in and locate all the Merlin Bears hidden around the airport in order to spell out a missing word.”
Southampton Airport aims to be easy, fast and friendly, however given the fact that it’s going to be busier than usual, all passengers are encouraged to give plenty of time for check-in and security area. They can now take advantage of the airport’s new Meet and Greet service, where a professional member of staff will park their car within the safety of the on-site car park.
Passengers are advised to make sure that all liquids in hand luggage are 100ml or less and are carried in a clear plastic bag provided to them for free at the security check point. They should also ensure that all electronic devices such as laptops and tablets are taken out of their bags prior to the X-Ray scanners along with other metal objects such as coins, keys and belts.
“Thinking ahead of these small things will ensure the easiness of travelling through our airport and will definitely set you in the summer holiday mood. We wish you a pleasant journey, wherever you are flying to today!” – added Neil Garwood.
