Lamborghini has shifted into second gear for the teasing campaign of the Aventador SVJ. Shot at the Nurburgring, the new teaser talks about the supercar’s power-to-weight ratio.

According to Lamborghini, the Aventador SVJ “has been designed to have the best weight-to-power ratio”, although without providing any numbers yet. The latest flagship model to come out of Sant’Agata Bolognese will be lighter and more powerful than the Aventador SV.

The latter offered 750PS (739hp / 552kW) and 690Nm (507lb-ft) of torque. Performance was already quite breath-taking, with 2.8sec to cover the 0-100km/h (0-62mph) and a top speed of 350km/h (217mph). The SVJ is expected to have around 790PS (779hp / 581kW), which will likely shave one or two tenths of a second from the acceleration figures of the SV.

Combined with improved aerodynamics, the hardcore supercar is rumored to have already beaten the production lap record at the Nurburgring. This means that the Aventador SVJ has lapped the famous German track faster than the Porsche 911 GT2 RS, which did it in 6:47.3 last fall, stealing the crown from the Lamborghini Huracan Performante.

Essentially a modern reenactment of the classic Diablo and Miura Jota models, the Aventador SVJ will probably be offered in a very limited production run. Details about it will be announced when the supercar debuts, and given the pace at which Lamborghini releases teasers, we’re probably a few weeks away from its official presentation.
