I'm not sure how to deal with my current relationship. We have been together for two years now, and I think we get along very well. My boyfriend is a great guy and cares about me a lot. What I find strange is that we have been on just 8 or 9 dates over this period. When we meet, it is always either at his place or mine (I live alone because my parents live in another city) and we don't do anything except chat, watch movies or have sex. I don't have a problem with this because I like spending time with him, but it's strange that he is never interested in us going out more, watching movies more or even visiting a restaurant every once in a while. Am I wrong to worry about this?
No, it's a perfectly legitimate thing to worry about, especially if he has no good reason for wanting to go out more often. Is he an introvert? Does he have financial reasons for avoiding dates outside your homes? Have the two of you spoken about this? Does he recognise that a relationship is about making compromises, and that you may want to go out even if he doesn't? You ought to discuss this, because you are entitled to get him to understand and see things from your perspective. Not going out isn't such a big deal if you are both in agreement about it. You are clearly not okay though, and going out together is great for a relationship, so find out more and get him to accept your reasons. If he respects you, he should. If he dismisses it outright, you have a problem.
