An unidentified militant hailing from the Kashmir Valley has returned to his family, the police said.

The identity of the person and his family was kept a secret by the police for safety purposes.

Many youngsters in the Valley have surrendered since last year after their families pleaded them to come back home.

More than a dozen militants have laid down their arms in Kashmir since last year when police announced that they will accept an offer to surrender of local militants even during ongoing encounters.
