In 2018 four new connections to China facilitated the trade through Heathrow to grow upto 2.2 per cent to 841,449 tonnes of cargo.

Passengers are spending more in Heathrow’s shops which resulted in retail growth of 4.8 per cent. The lower airport charges was supported by strong retail spend which went down by one per cent.
The revenues were up by 2.3 percent to £1,405 million with strong retail sales and continued passengers growth. There was an increase in adjusted EDIDTA by 1.6 percent.
A political mandate helped in propelling the expansion of Heathrow’s project forward.
At present the airport is considering new ideas from the UK businesses and entrepreneurs to deliver the project in the most innovative, sustainable and affordable way.
