Open Championship: Players bag 16 medals

Madhya Pradesh Water Sports Academy players performed brilliantly and bagged 16 medals at the Telangana State Open Championship. Exhibiting an impressive performance the players won three gold medals, eight silver medals and five bronze medals.

The championship was held during Hyderabad Sailing Week (YAI Multiclass National Ranking Sailing Championship), and Monsoon National Ranking Sailing Championship held in Hyderabad. Here on Monday the winners met State Minister of Sports and Youth Welfare Department Yashodhara Raje Scindia. They met TT Nagar stadium.

The Sports Minister appreciated the performance of all the medal winners and encouraged them by congratulating them. On this occasion, Chief Secretary Sports M Mohan Rao and Director Sports and Youth Welfare S.L. Thoussen were also present.

It is notable that the Academy's sailing player Satish Yadav won the gold medal in the Laser Radial Open competition of Telangana State Open Championship. In the boys category of the Laser 4.7 competition, Academy player Ram Milan Yadav won the bronze medal along players with Rajat and Satish Yadav. Academy girl Ritika Dangi won the silver medal in the girls category of this event. Academy champion Uma Chahan won a silver and bronze medal in the event of the championship.

Similarly, Academy's player Ram Milan Yadav won a bronze medal in a gold and open category in the Hyderabad Sailing Week, Layer 4.7 under-16 category of YAI Multiclass National Ranking Sailing Championship.
