Haval, the professional SUV division of GWM, has made its competitors sit up and take notice after earning a bronze medal in the 2018 National Automobile Dealers’ Association (NADA) Dealer Satisfaction Index (DSI) Awards – and this after doing business in the country for just one year.
"This is an amazing achievement in our first year. However, we are working hard at improving on this and also to take the satisfaction we enjoy from our dealers and carry that over to our customers," says Charles Zhao, Managing Director of Haval Motors South Africa.
'Making it work from the word go'
Haval started with just three dealers, and by June 2018 the company has expanded to no less than 29 Haval dealers countrywide after receiving full factory back-up.

In its efforts to build its local representation to 35 dealers by the end of this year, Haval worked hard to set up its dealer network and "making it work from the word go," states Zhao.

Coming to local shores from China in May 2017, Haval recently celebrated its first year of doing business here with a 500% increase in sales in the first 10 months.
NADA, one of the 12 Constituent Associations of the Retail Motor Industry (RMI) in SA, measures dealers’ satisfaction with the various automotive brands. This year a total of 33 independently researched brands formed part of the survey, and Haval neatly slipped into the trade in the middle of the pack.
The survey results are divided into a number of key focus areas – areas of interest to the NADA membership at large.
These focus areas are:
• Dealer Satisfaction;
• Communication & Relationships;
• Customer Focus;
• Used Cars;
• CSI Program;
• Vehicle Range;
• Media Support;
• Vehicle Distribution;
• Parts;
• Goodwill, Policy Claims & Warranty;
• Franchise Compliance Audits;
• Dealer Support and
• Labour Rates.
