Uttar Pradesh: Man held with 6kg gold in Duranto Express

VARANASI: During a checking drive the GRP personnel recovered 6kg gold worth of Rs two crore from a passenger travelling in 12273 Duranto Express at Pt. Deen Dayal Junction in Chandauli district on Monday night. The arrested person was handed over to officials of custom department for further investigation.
The GRP inspector RK Singh said that while checking at platform number -6 the team spotted a suspicious looking person at the seat number 37 of A1 coach. When checked six gold bricks each weighing 1kg were found in his luggage. He could not produce the document in support of the gold.

The man was identified as Shivraj Singh, resident of Bulandshahar. He was carrying the gold from Howrah to New Delhi. The custom officials are interrogating the man, he added.

Recently, two persons were also arrested with Rs 2 crore in cash traveling in the same train on July 20.
