Bhopal: While Police is expected to establish role model for the public with its conduct, the way police fished out the bodies of the deceased on Monday- who died in an accident in Kolar Dam, left everyone including villagers and onlookers in state of shock and surprise.
MP Human Right Commission Public Relation officer LS Sisodia said, “It is really inhuman. Police is supposed to consider sentiments of public and bereaved families in such cases. If police has fished out bodies which are hanging through windows of the car, it should be taken into cognizance. Police should have carefully fished out bodies first and then the car.”
Sehore police used a crane to fish out the car as well the dead bodies. It did so while the dead bodies of six youths were still inside the car. During this attempt the crane’s wire which was holding the car- broke down and the car again plunged into the canal with the bodies.
The sight of six bodies hanging through windows of the car while being fished out left the onlookers aghast with unsympathetic style of Police’s working and evoked hushed criticism of the view and the act. The onlookers said that the Police team should have fished out bodies first before taking out the car by crane.
Six youths had ventured into the area for a birthday celebration but their car plunged into 50ft canal adjacent to Kolar Dam on intervening night of Sunday-Monday. Their bodies have been sent to Bilkishganj hospital for postmortem.
