Child body pulled from Gzb rubble

With one more body being recovered from below the collapsed house in Ghaziabad, the death toll has reached to two. One body was recovered on Sunday and the person was identified as Rahul. The other body was recovered on Monday at 3:00 am from below the slab of the collapsed building. He was identified as six-year-old Sagar.

The rescue operation by the National Disaster Relief Force (NDRF) is still going on, said the official. The building owner, who is allegedly absconding with

his family, since the collapse of the building, has been booked by police under the relevant sections of IPC.

An FIR has been lodged at Masuri police station by Ghaziabad Development Authority (GDA).  The case has been registered under sections 304, 308, 337, 338, 427 and 288 of IPC and 7 criminal law amendment act against plot owner Kishan Pal Tomar, builders Mukesh Singh and Dinesh Singh and dozen others. The District Magistrate has ordered a magisterial enquiry into the case.

However, no arrests have been made so far but some people have been detained for questioning, said said police. On the other hand IG Meerut range Ram Kumar visited the site on Sunday night to submit his report to the State Government. 

The incident occurred on Sunday in Akash Nagar residential colony of Dasna under Masuri police station of Ghaziabad.  

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has ordered an enquiry into the incident.

"Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath directed the District Magistrate and the Senior Superintendent of police of Ghaziabad to visit the site of building collapse and take immediate action for rescue, along with NDRF personnel," an Uttar Pradesh Government spokesperson said in Lucknow. 

Adityanath also asked the district authorities to register an FIR and take action against the guilty.  Local MP and Minister of State for External Affairs V K Singh reached the spot and took stock of the rescue operation.  Maheshwari said police were trying to trace the land owner and the builder.

"The Government will give Rs 2 lakh as ex-gratia to the family of the victim and Rs 50,000 each to the injured," Maheshwari said.
