Income Tax day celebrated in Ludhiana

LUDHIANA: Income tax department, Ludhiana celebrated Income Tax day 2018 on Monday. Apart from dedicating a vertical garden to Ludhiana on Tuesday at city’s railway station a program was also organized by department at its TDS and Appeals wing located on Ferozepur Road. Earlier in the day a plantation cum cleanliness drive was conducted by investigation wing of IT department at its Kitchlu Nagar office. The officials of the wing along with chief commissioner of Income Tax (CCIT), Binay K Jha and principal director Parneet Sachdev cleaned the surroundings of the office and planted saplings. The highlights of other event organised at TDS and APPEALS office was the presentation by schoolchildren of different schools. Speaking on the occasion, Jha said, "24th of July being the Income Tax Day, the launch of this vertical garden has been a special gift to the Green Plastic Initiative that commenced in Ludhiana exactly one year ago. This garden holds great potential for spreading the idea of environmental awareness and reducing pollution throughout India. The Income Tax Department, Ludhiana also celebrated the Income Tax Day this year in an innovative manner by involving over 400 schools that held painting competitions on the theme "Swachh Bharat" & "Samridh Bharat". The corporate tax payers also came forward to hold similar painting competitions in their own premises”

The celebrations were attended by Principal Commissioners of Income-Tax, Ludhiana, R Bhama, DS Chaudhary, Avdhesh Kumar Mishra, Rajeev Ranjan Singh, Principal Director of Income Tax (Investigation) Parneet Sachdev, Commissioners of income tax (Appeals) Ludhiana, Alok Kumar, Abha Rani Singh, Parvinder Kaur, Additional Commissioners Rajinder Kaur, Ritesh Parmar, Rohit Mehra, Manav Bansal and joint commissioners Tarandeep Kaur and AK Dhir.
